Mikael Lövkvist is a Doctoral Student in Clinical psychology, a

Dance/Movement Therapist, a Licensed Massage Therapist, and

a Certified Somatic Therapist. After more than a decade’s work as a teacher and coach, Mikael has devoted the past 14 years to learning about, and to providing, services in the healing arts.

His prior teaching experiences included work at Elementary and High schools as well as serving as Visiting Professor at the University of Lund, Sweden. As a Dance/Movement Therapist, after graduating at UCLA, Mikael has treated clients ranging from age 6-102, and has worked in a variety of settings, including psychiatric in-patient, partial, and out-patient hospitals, a residential treatment facility for severely abused children, and senior homes. Academically, Mikael currently conducts Doctoral research on the somatic experiences of empathy in the therapeutic relationship.
